The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete preparing for major competition

The rising star boasts substantial social media presence

Kai Trump will have multiple high-profile supporters when she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses multiple golf courses and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Simply stay calm."

"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and relax," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions recently and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

Yet she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.

"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's a more impressive individual. He told me to play, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face some of top competitors in the sport at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that involving Kai exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly with youth audiences.

Kai maintains millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness company.

Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
